Kalathos strode through the milling crowd in the city square, not seeming too particularly aware of just what his destination might be. From his manner of dress and his pointed ears, he could be marked clearly as a high elf, a common sight for humans these days. As such, it was of little surprise that the general public paid him about as much mind as he bothered to give them.
Quite accidentally, mainly attributed to the fact that he was paying so little attention to where he was headed, Kalathos had the misfortune of walking into a human headed in the opposite direction as himself, nearly knocking the poor man clear off his feet. He immediately shot out a hand to steady the human and make certain he did not fall over as he took this time to make observations about this particular human. It was apparent both by the style and quality of his clothing and, in this ones case, the size of his girth, that implied that this human was either of some nobility or upper social standing. For whatever reason, human males in particular seemed to think gluttony a good way of flaunting ones greater financial security over those lees fortunate. Repulsive as this was to many of his brethren, they did, for the most part, make no comment on this.
Apologizing heartily to the human who, as was another natural trait of their race, was insistent that this entire accident was not only in no way his fault, but the blame was to fall squarely on Kalathos. It was of no matter, as neither of them were hurt and the chances were they would not meet ever again, so Kalathos simply set off at a brisk pace in the general direction he had been previously headed in while the human also went on his own way.
Turning fairly abruptly into a side alley, he leaned against a wall, waiting to see if anyone would pursue. As no one new entered this alleyway, he brought out his left hand, which had been in his pocket ever since his encounter with the human. Observing the small leather pouch in his hand, he noted it bore some random family crest sewn onto the front of it, yet the thing that was most to his satisfaction was its weight and size, which hinted at the considerable wealth Kalathos had just 'acquired' from that ever so kind human he had just met. In fact, if only the human knew what Kalathos had just done, he would most likely be quite thankful. After all, who wanted to carry such a burden in gold coins around with them? He clearly already had more than enough money to live quite comfortable, taking this petty amount from him would do nothing more than help to alleviate the heavy burden of keeping track of his probably great fortune. This was clearly an act done for the benefit of them both.

Allura watched the accident closely, her deep brown eyes catching a glimpse of what she thought was slight of hand on the elf’s part, though why, she didn’t understand as the Elf too looked as though he needs not steel to live, but, as she tended to steer clear the wealthier of the human population she did not feel inclined as to inform the rather portly gentleman of his recent loss in purse.
She did however, feel the need to follow the Elf in his retreat into the alley and so, she did on perhaps the most silent feet known to any kind, she levitated over head, her small size going unnoticed by the disregarding charms she had set about herself, quit helpful little tricks she had found on more than one occasion well worth the small amount of time it took to prefect them.
Soon, she let herself float to the ground on the inner part of the ally, not all too far from the Elf and she tilted her head full of spiked hair, her beautiful brown orbs looking at him with questioning in her eyes.
“Nice day isn’t it.” She stated, her head still tilted slightly as she looked upon the male.
Then she silently cursed herself and laughed at her silliness as well. She had not disengaged the charms before trying to talk to him and so, she did.
“Nice day isn’t it.” She repeated again, this time he would notice her, and this time, she looked straight at him, her very calm nature not in any way threatening, and her friendly smile offering nothing but the best of intentions.

"Quite a lovely day indeed," he said quickly, his hands dissapearing into his pockets, smiling at the woman who had just arrived in a friendly way.
"Is there something I can help you with?" he asked innocently, his empty hands now re-appearing from his pockets, "I am more than happy to give what aid I may wherever it is needed, especially on such a lovely day as this." he said, his word somewhat of a jumble, a sign of his quick attempts to cover for himself.

“No, I am quite content at the side of my fireside at night.” She replied, holding her hand out and letting a fire orb develop in her palm as she leaned against the wall of the ally, now twirling the orb around her hands, from one to the next, over and under it went, moving alarmingly fast, though she seemed to pay it little attention, it was something she did, when she was thinking something almost second nature to her.
“It would seem that you are perhaps not quite so content to your own life though.” She replied calmly.

"Whatever do you mean by that," Kalathos asked, his cheerful demeanor not fading in the least, "I am quite content, after all, why shouldn't I be? And even if I weren't, I would have all eternity to remedy that fact, unlike some races...." he said, letting this trail off.
"Well then," he said, attempting to abruptly change the subject, "Why don't we perhaps stop be the local tavern or something for a quick drink. The alcoholic swill that these humans make may be inferior in every way to the high standards of the elves, but its cheap and plentiful. The perfect combination I'm looking for right about now."

Allura regarded him for a few moments, but then decided not to push the issue, as she really didn’t care one way or the next if he would have gutted that pompous kinglet.
“A drink sounds delightful, and hey, I may be human, but I am far from normal humanity, I am certain we could find plenty to talk about, like this eternity you speak of. That sounds like an awful lot of fun.” She replied, with a wink. “TO the tavern then?” She finished.

"Tavern sounds wonderful right about now," his cheerful tone undying, "I'll buy. After all, I got a nice fat paycheck today, gave me more than enough for some time."

Allura grinned. “Yes, I know..” She commented and then motioned for him to take the lead. “After you kind sir.” She said in her friendly manner.

"You know?" he said, looking a bit set back by this, yet as always, he swiftly recovered and was grinning once more within moments, "Very well, very well, I shall lead the way, fair lady."

ooc: Excuse me for interupting anything but it was really the easiest way to get my butt into a story and meet someone ^-^ If you dont want me to I'll delete this.
IC:
This must absolutely be the most terrible job you ever had Luun!...Maaaaan...
A small girl, no older than 20, dressed in loose grey pants and an emerald green silk shirt that matched her eyes perfectly (if one took the time to notice such a small thing), tried to force her way through the crowd, carrying a truckload of heavy books and scrolls in her arms. She had only recently taken on a job, for some demented historian, out of boredom, only she had been stupid enough to sign a paper that said she had to work for him for atleast 30 days. And now she was forced to run across the city back and forth, transporting his work from his old home to his new one. No wonder the man had been so eager to offer her the job.
Must be too lazy to do it himself...sheesh...
Leaving the crowded square she darted into an ally, knowing it to be a most useful shortcut but when she went around the corner something blocked her way and she ran straight into a very tall object, sending her face down into the dirt, the books and scrolls scattering all across the ground.
"I'm so sorry..." She muttered quietly and sat up, rubbing her nose and flicking some strands of coppery blonde hair out of her face. She then started to recollect the books without bothering to look up and cursed quietly when she noticed what kind of damage the dirt had done to the scrolls. "I am sooooo dead...." She continued, again barely audible.

Allura smirked at this Elf and she inclined her head. “I know far more than most would enjoy me knowing sir.” She responded and then began to follow him out of the ally when she witnessed a small girl rounding the corner, though not in time to keep the collision form happening.
“Are you ok?” She asked as she saw the girl begin to pick up the scrolls and book. “Here, let me help.” She offered, but waited for no reply. No sooner had the words left her mouth, and all the books parchments and scrolls were safely up off the ground and back in the girls hands, cleaned and dust free, each of them. “I see no reason why it would be that you would get in any trouble now.” She said, giving her a wink.

"Eh...?" She blinked at the books and scrolls in her arms for a moment and then smiled sheepishly as she stood up with her heavy load. "Thanks. Maybe I'll now survive my last few days of enslavement..." She snorted as she thought about her employer.
Then she finally looked up at the elf. "Again, sorry about that. I wasnt really paying attention. Lets just say...I had my mind elsewhere..." She rolled her eyes and ended looking down at the pile of paperwork. "Elsewhere...yes. Or absolutely nowhere but here...I suppose it all depends or your point of view...anyway..." She sighed. "I better get going before I have to listen to yet an other one of his rants about me and the fact that I'm lazy beyond reasoning..."
