((I know. Rather unimpressive as my first post, but well, I need to learn Rowan better, become him better, if you know what I mean.))
The night stars glimmered upon the celestial heavens, shimmering in the darkening sky, still and quiet, or at least, relatively so. Green leaves, glistening with dewdrops shimmered under the night sky, kissing the light of moonbeams from the plants on which they quietly lay. It was a peaceful night in the meadow, silent, save for the occasional chirpings of a few crickets...and the almost imperceptible breathing of a wizard. His shaded blue eyes stared towards the crescent moon, sparkling with unimaginable resolution, and an unlikely smile passed his lips.
“So this is where it’ll all begin,” the man whispered into the dark, “This is where I begin to fulfill my destiny.”
It was with an amused tone in which he spoke, serene, mysterious, yet with also the wariness of an aged warrior. This was a man who lived for adventures, and kept his own life a secret from the world; a powerful man, and not one to be trifled with. Rowan Prestale was his name, yet he went by many in recent times. Names and faces could be changed as often as one pleased.
These times would pass soon, of that, the wizard was sure of. It would end with the beginning of a new era, a powerful era.
And Rowan Prestale would be there to guide it.

Her keen eyes were watching out from the top of one of the trees, keeping careful watch over the forest. When the male elf came into view her interest was piqued and she dropped down a few branches, the foliage and darkness hiding her from view. After many years of living in the wild, she'd learned how to conceal herself whenever she didn't want to be seen. Even her dark eyes blended in with the forest, leaving no trace of her.
"You show an interest in the stars, my sir." She said, coming up suddenly behind him and tilting her own head towards the sky. "But I would be careful, for not all things that are to be read there are actually the truth."
As soon as she even heard the cracking of branches as the drow approached, the elf girl drew her sword and whipped around. What was a drow doing here, trying to make friends with a High Elven? It was completely illogical. She should just kill the female drow right here; give her a quick end by her sword rather than the sword of someone else.
"Get out." She growled. "I don't like seeing your kind around here. Leave; or else I swear I'll gut you and make you wish you'd never lived your filthy life." Her eyes were cold as the silver her blade was made of, the blade which was pointed right at the overly friendly drow's neck.

He saw the two beings come to life around him, and yet showed no sign of surprise whatsoever. He had expected danger in the forest, to not do so would be utter folly; a trap Rowan would never allow himself to walk into. The dark veiled many things, friends and foes alike, and it’d be wise for one to come prepared for either. As he gazed into the faces of his two new acquaintances steadily, the wizard dared chuckle softly. Such display of blind rage could only come from the ignorant. These elves were only making themselves appear of a lower class.
Were they really as stupid as to challenge a magicker?
No, they were foolish enough to challenge each other.
With blue eyes flashing, Rowan gazed levelly at them, showing no fear towards them as well as no aggression. For a second, he did not speak, preferring to let the silence build up to an awkward length. Would they back down? No, most likely not. They were elves, were they not? And elves were proud peoples.
“It would be best,” he began at length, his voice a calm whisper, “That you inquire as to the nature and character of a visitor before brashly attempting an attack.” At this point, he held up a hand and deflected the flying dagger.
With arms opened wide and hands up toward the sky, he continued. “I do not seek war, only peace and knowledge. The stars can not give me that.”
No, the stars could give him nothing.

Gemini turned around and saw that the dagger reflected! Then she had stood there wondering what would happen next! Then she said,
" I dont want to fight I just want to make friends "

Her heart was beating fast and her arm almost moved to slit the drow's throat, but she stopped at the very last moment. What was the point of killing her? Someone else would surely do it sooner or later, and the she-elf certainly didn't want the blood on her hands. It was said to be a rather unsightly thing for a girl of her stature.
"My mother was killed by a drow." She replied, her eyes still locked on the girls. "So, if you would be most kind to forgive me, perhaps we can resove this peacefully." She was hardly pleased that the wizard actually wanted the drow around, but she didn't want to fight him.
"What brings you this way then?" She asked, raising one finger and tracing it through the constellations in the air. Orion was the easiest for her to find- the three stars that made up his belt and then the few that made up the mighty hunter's bow. The stars brought her such peace sometimes.

((Ehh, I didn't really know where to go with this so yeah.))
The drow was an idiot- of that, Rowan was sure of. Who else would leave the safety of home to wander in distant lands, especially in dangerous places such as this out of utter boredom? Ill provisioned, ill informed, and utterly stupid; she wasn't doing much to better drow reputation, especially in the minds of high elves such as himself, the only ones who mattered. No doubt his elven acquaintance felt the same way.
The world was filled with such fools…
Rowan smiled slightly at the absurdity of the scene, yet his countenance held no warmth. It was a wonder that his kin did not go through with murder. What remarkable self-control this one had. Had it been himself, the drow would have been dead long since…or would she?
Did he really care if his parents were dead?
“Of course I do,” he thought, “I am an elf, after all. I have emotions”
Yet the words sounded strangely hollow even in his mind.

She raised one eyebrow at the drow's odd behavior, her thoughts mirroring those of her companion. This was a dangerous forest and simply wandering in would be quite unwise. The thought to kill the girl once again flashed through her mind, but she fought it and lowered her blade slightly. It wasn't worth it. That was just the plain and simple fact; she hated this girl only because of her race. Obviously she liked wandering around, so someone would eventually kill her.
It seemed as though she had nothing more to say to the elf who now stood beside her, though she didn't know why. He was of her own kind, but that most certainly didn't make them alike. So she merely stood there silently, considering throwing a dagger into the retreating drow's back.

Maeve stood, hidden in shadow, watching the drow leave. She slowly moved out into the soft light and nodded to the other two High Elves. "Good eve, sir, madame.",she said, nodding respectfully. Young as she was,she had always remembered to treat other with respect. Even Drow,as deceitful as they were. She slipped off the hood of her emerald cloak. "The sky certainly is beautiful tonight."

((I'm sorry, I have a final coming up, so I've been studying.))
What the hell is it with intruders finding his wearabouts? Rowan had come on a journey, a rather secretive one too, and all of these people seeing him certainly was not good for trying to keep things a secret. The less he was seen the better...and yet this...rather large crowd that was gathering hardly gave him that.
So how to get rid of the annoying folks?
And all he could do was to agree with the new girl's words. After all, the stars were a joy to look at.
