Ramona lounged on her back, her head turned up towards the sky, just as the sun was setting below the horizon. She loved coming out here, to the grassy lands, just before dark crept in the world. She couldn’t handle the brightness of the noon day sun, but the setting sun, that was another story, that and the sun rise, she tried to catch each and every day and night of her every day.
Her horse stood grazing not too far away, unsaddled and bridled, Ramona was using his saddle as a sort of pillow as she let him too, enjoy the freedom of the grassy lands.
Her thoughts this day, as she lay there, dressed in the garb of any common Drow, were on nothing more than simple thought of life and death. Nothing too pressing, she was, after all, relaxing.

"Great, company." Rit mumbled rudely to himself as the figure of the relaxing Ramona came into view. He was off on a walk this evening in order to be alone and to his thoughts but that didn't seem like it was working out just how he had planned. He had even left his horse tied to a tree a ways back in order to be completely alone but this Drow seemed to have to have chosen exactly where he was walking in order to watch the sunset. Sure he could easily change his direction or just pass by her and continue on his merry way but it was the moral behind it. He was where to think and now all that he could really think about was that dang Drow. He had much more important matters to debate with himself on but that Drow. It made him angry just thinking about it.
That was also on top of the fact about which he had come out here to think about. There was unrest in the city and the wieght of it was on his shoulders. Five of his supposedly most trusted advisors had comited treason by plotting against him. Well at least that was what he was telling the common man. But there was now five spots of advisors that needed to be filled by new blood but who was he going to pick? And so in all that chaos he had chosen to tack this stroll.
Well he continued on his way yet stopped suddenly where the drow was laying down like there was a wall infront of him. He just stood there thinking that the Drow very well knew why he was standing there. He was ticked off and something needed to be done about it. He was a Human Lord after all.

Ramona lazily looked over at the human as he so noisily approach. What was it with humans that made them so clumsy, even when they thought they were being quiet, they weren’t. Who was he, and what in the hell was he doing intruding on her peaceful sunset and why was he staring at her like she had done something wrong? She had been here first, and as far as she knew, had every right to be here and so it was, that this looked to be a stare off, at least for a few moments.
“Yes?” She finally asked in a decidedly quiet tone. She was in no way wanting to announce who she was at the present time, and though that was easy, as she never really acted the pompous royalty that most in her position would.

Rit just stood there and grunted in his deep horse voice. He didn't want to strike a conversation with this woman, he wanted her to leave! He patience was begining to run thin and the broad sword sheathed on his back began to feel welcoming. However he took a deep breath in and attempted to control himself. The last thing he wanted was a war with the Drow just because he killed one of them. And that's what would happen if he fought her. He would win. So he just tried to restrain himself and stand thier looking at her. "Can you please move?" It almost hurt him to say that but he had to keep himself calm and not insult this creature. He had enough domestic proublems to deal with like the next advisors and eliminating religion in the city. He had to keep on good terms with the other races. But he so longed to grab hold of his sword.

Had he just asked her to move? Had this pompous, stuffed headed human male just asked her to move? She gaped at him for a moment and then closed her bottom jaw with a slight snap.
“Hum, I’m sorry old man, I don’t see that happening, you see, I am here, you are not, and you can step around if you want through, there are other ways than straight lines, you do understand that, do you not?” She replied, her tone loosing its quiet nature, the Katana at her side ready if he tried anything for surely this rude being would be no match for her great abilities with her own blade. “Or art thou so totally inept at thinking beyond what it is you see directly in front of your very own nose, that you can not improvise with out order?” She asked, her regal tone beginning to show a bit now.
Had he been thinking about what he was looking at, he would have, by now, figured out whom it was he was talking to, as she was the ONLY Drow that contained dark hair and emerald eyes, the only one and the first in over three thousand years, that, and the painted designs on her cheeks, were the Spider Queens markings and any Royal being form any race, would know that, if they bothered to pay attention to their politics. OF course, he was a bit in his own world at the moment of their meeting that he simply may have not even bothered to pay attention to a simply dressed Drow, lounging in the darkening fields of the night sky.

'Don't grab for your sword you old fool don't even flinch.' He thought as he heard the drow speak. He remembered who she was now, he thought that she had seemed familiar. She was the Spider Queen, Ramona. A fight with her would defintely result in conflict between thier two races and a fight with the Drows was something that he couldn't deal with currently. His army was too business rounding up the religious rebels of his city that they couldn't afford a war at the time.
So, much unlike himself, he continued unward ignoring much that the Drow had said. But the encounter stayed in his mind. Once he was done cleaning up affairs on the home front a war with the Drows looked promising and fun. He would love to kill this woman in batle.

Ramona watched him go and she smiled to herself. “That man is a King in every respect.” She said to her horse who had managed to graze on over to her.
She wondered what went through his mind, and suddenly, that all too familiar grin, that one would know if they knew her, came drawing up the corners on her mouth.
Ramona stood, reached down and grabbed her crossbow, with a silent, click, she armed it with one single arrow then took a bit of cloth from her skirt, tearing it cleanly from the hem and affixed it to the tip, aimed and fired.
The arrow whizzed past the head of the King, so near that had he moved even an inch to his right, it would have pierced his head. The arrow soared until it found a tree trunk approximately 500 yards from Ramona’s position where it stuck perfectly in, waiting for Rit to take it.
It was her message to him that she accepted his silent challenge, and perhaps one day, the two of them would meet on a battlefield.
Ramona turned, picked up her saddle, threw it on her horse, grasped up the bridal in one hand and leapt on to his back and, patting him on the shoulder, he turned and galloped off in the direction of the Drow city.
Leaving behind only the sound of hooves and laughter.
