Your character will naturally fit to their own role in the lands of Adunasir. When you have decided on both a race and position you wish for your character, simple PM me.
The most basic thing to choose is what race your character is. This should influence, yet not completely define, how your character would act towards others and how others act towards them.
Note: After your position has been changed, check to make certain you still have the appropriate gender selected in your profile as sometimes changing positions can cause it to reset.
The basic races are:
Human- Your average townsfolk. Humans are generally accepting of all other races, and all are welcomed into their towns and cities. Of course, the heavier your wallet, the greater the welcome generally expected when dealing with humans.
High Elven- Proud, noble, and in most cases, arrogant. High elves, as a general rule hate all dark elves with a passion, almost as much as their dark-skinned cousins hate them. As a rule, high elves generally try to avoid extended contact with other races, being the 'higher' beings that they are, yet humans and half-elves are usually allowed into their settlements without much difficulty.
Drow(dark elves)- Drow are very similar to their High Elven cousins. Drow are known as 'dark elves' because of their dark skin, silver hair, and a somewhat sensitivity to light, not because of any inherent evil in their race. Their hatred with High elves runs both ways, and a normal drow would not pass up any opportunity to cause misfortune to one should the chance arise. As drow are usually frowned upon by most other races, they also frown upon others, yet are willing to accept and aid most who are willing to admit to their 'inferiority' to the drow.
Half Elven- Half elven, as their name implies, are the offspring of a High elf/drow and a human parents. Half-elves are often times the outcasts of society, shunned and looked down upon by both other elves and humans alike.
Alright. Aside from your race, you will generally have a position in society. The basic positions are outlined below:
Warrior- An archer, swordsman, w/e. Basically a non-magical fighter of any sort.
Thief- They steal things, 'nuf said.
Sorcerer/sorceress- They posess inborn magical skill, yet do not have acesss to some more powerful spells.
Merchant- Excelling in in buying and selling, they deal in money.
Mercenary- Your basic person to hire if you need something done.
Squire- A warrior/knight in training.
Priest/preistess- Typical religious followers.
Barlass/bartender- They work in the bars, taverns, and inns. What race you are determines where you work. (Drow work in the drow city, High Elves work in the High Elven city, Half-Elves and humans work in the human city.)
Knight- The greatest warriors the humans have, quite capable when it comes to a fight. (human only)
Scholar- Adept at using magical powers attained through many long hours of research. (Human only.)
Paladin- Warriors of light that posesses both skill with the sword and holy magic. (Human only)
Witch- As part of a matriarchal society, these are some of the deadliest of drow warriors, posessing both magical and physical skills. (Female Drow or half-Drow only)
Cultist- The fanatical followers of the Spider Queen, in addition to being powerful warriors. (Drow or Half-Drow only)
Wizard- Some of the most powerful of the High elven magic users. (High Elf or Half High-Elf only.)
Slave- (need a master, you essentially do as you're told by them)
Familiar- A small animal, (dog, cat, etc..) that can telepathically communicate with it's master. Faithful companions who's usefulness should not be overlooked.
High Elven Wardens/Human Gatekeepers/Drow
guardians.- These are the warriors who ceaselessly guard the entrance to their respective race's city, excelling mainly in physical prowess, they may still have some magical ability to aid in their sacred tasks.
