Creil smiled knowingly, his expression warming, "Gentle Eiddwyn, all is not as it doth seem - never, as it doth seem." he smiled. He could not, in truth, understand how people could not have faith in something. Surely their lives must be so empty? how could they hope to go on? How could they have faith - if they beleived in nothing but themselves? Atheists would constantly trouble the hulking paladin, but he gave it little thought. his heart and mind were turned towards god and alwayswould be. It would be his duty to lead others toward the light of the true faith. "Perhaps, we shalt have occasion to talk of thy faith?" He suggested, an impish smile on his face.

Eiddwyn shrugged. "Maybe," she said, though without a whole lot of enthusiasm. "I've never really been all that interested in religion. I respect that other people are, of course," she added quickly, "but I've just always been more interested in the world I'm in than what may or may not await me afterwards." She looked around, the topic having aroused her sense of wonder. "The sun, the wind, the flowers and birds -- we have to enjoy these things while we have them," she said to the Paladin, her eyes alight. Then she thought of something else. "Besides, what's the point of a question that you can't really find the answer to in this world?" The girl made a face. "Unsatisfied curiousity is one of my least favorite things."

Creil laughed and smiled warmly, "Watch." he said softly. With that, he began tho mutter under his breath in an archaic language, ahat was incomprihensible to all but those of the holy order who studied it for their entire lives, he raised his hand and began gesturing in an obscure fashion, weaving shapes in the air with his fingers. Slowly, the faint outline of an object began to appear, ringed in dull yellow light. Then. cords of light began to spin from the air itself, joining and giving the outline substance. With a small flash of light and a dull, hymn like noise, the Paladin held a white rose in his armoured hand. Offering it out to Eiddwyn, he smiled "Mine own skepticism was shaken by holy majic, dear lady. E'en at the tender age of eight."

Eiddwyn smiled. "Yes, but I can do things like that too." Accepting the rose, she knelt, placed the end of the stem on the ground, closed her eyes, and waited. For a moment nothing seemed to happen; then the stem thickened at the bottom and attached itself to the earth. The dirt around it shifted slightly as the new plant spread out roots; when it had finished, Eiddwyn placed the tips of her fingers 'round the stem's base and gently drew them up. The stem lengthened, and Eiddwyn stood to continue the motion. The existing leaves grew, and new ones sprouted as the plant grew in height. When the rose itself was about level with Eiddwyn's chin it stopped growing and she ran her fingers over the flower, which obligingly enlarged and changed its appearance to resemble that of a lily. Finished, Eiddwyn stepped back to look at her work. "In the middle of the square?" she mused aloud. "No, that won't do." Placing her hands above the flower as if around a wheel slightly larger than it, she twisted the imaginary wheel counter-clockwise. The flower unspun itself into many glowing particles of light, which then gathered into a ball that Eiddwyn took in her cupped hands and passed to Creil, smiling a little. "Anyone can learn to do that, if they're willing to study," she said to him.
OOC: Hope that wasn't too flashy... I was thinking of Fantasia 2000.

Creil took the offered gift, the glowing orb, from her outstretched hand, "And where dost thou thinkest the power which thou dost so freely use is afforded unto thee from, my child?" He asked smiling

OOC: I just decided to discontinue this character in favor of Averil, but what the heck...
Eiddwyn shrugged. "Everyone has their theories," she answered. "Some think it comes from within, some think there are these invisible lines of power running everywhere -- one of my least favorites, might I add." She made a face. "It sounds like an intolerable mess. But honestly, I don't know. Maybe someday I'll sit down and figure it out, but in the meantime why pretend I know when I don't?"

Creil smiled warmly, "Thy majic, and mine is drawn from the power of god. Mine i doth submit in the form of a request, in an archaic, and sacred language. It is my truth, but perhaps not the truth for others." He said, closing his hand about the ball of light, muttering under his breath in a musical sounding language, cupping his hands together as he did. When he opened his hands again, a small, bright white dove sat on his palm. Creil chuckled warmly and launched it into the air. It took flight, soaring high over the city and dissapearing into the cloud cover. "Beauty, will save us all." He murmered quietly, not intending to be heard.

Eiddwyn frowned at this display of poor logic. "Truth is not relative, sir," she told the Paladin. "Let's say we're both looking at the same cylinder from different angles. To you it looks like a circle, and to me it looks like a rectangle. Does the fact that we think it is these things make it either of them?" This kind of thing bothered Eiddwyn almost as much as circular logic; neither one made any sense whatsoever, and she just couldn't see how people bought into them so often. Neither doves nor beauty's saving power were anywhere near the forefront of Eiddwyn's mind now.
