Eidlin lightly pushed open the door to the church. The setting sun shown brightly through the windows illuminating the interrior without the aid of candles. Inside, the silence and peace was undisturbed for the only other occupant, a monk, was just exiting through another door that perhaps lead to the courtyard of the chapterhouse.
Eidlin made her way across the transept and down the length of the church to the very back and there she lightly knelt in prayer. Once she whispered her last Amen, Eidlin sat back on the bench and looked around the room. Fighting off her memories of the past, and her thoughts of the future she tried to focus her mind on the beauty around her.
'It's of no use,' she told herself with a sigh. Her thoughs were winning over. 'The church might not stand should the ruler of the city bring up an army and destroy it.' Frankly, the girl was surprised he had not yet done so. So much in the city contradicted logic and common sence. The girl leaned back and watched the sunlight play in the church. She had decided to stay as long as she could there, just sitting and thinking, for she had nowhere else to go. And who knew if she would have another chance to do so.

Lyconus came in and once more was in awe of the place. "Many a great effort shall have to be made to protect this place." He said to himself but it was outloud.

Eidlin looked up as she heard a familiar voice echo off the stone walls around her.
"Lyconus," she whispered with a smile and a nod as she stood up to walk over to him. "It has been a while since we seen one another. I take it you are well," she said as she came over to stand by him. "And as for what you said, I quite agree."
