The window in Rit's study was open, not a common thing. It was the main way that Rit saw the city. From high up in his mansion and through that window he could see most of the city. Secretly, when he looked out that window, he knew how much the city was in a shape of disrepair yet he did little to help that. This city had been in slum long before he ruled it.
Today the window was a portal of all manner of things. The cool breeze wiped around his room tossing papers into the air before heading out the door. The noises from the busy town square filled his room as people bought, sold, and just mingled. All sorts of smells reached up from the city, some bad some good. But the most important thing that the breeze carried was silent, it was calm, it was the news of the approaching civil war. Rit would purge his city of that Paladin.
He had called for his personal slave Asheira who had recently given him some useful information. He took the information and used it to come up his a plan. Now all he needed was that girl to pull it all together.

Asheira had been busy washing the windows in the mansion when she had been summoned. She wondered that perhaps she should change cloths into the finer ones he had ‘gifted’ her with, but decided against it, he’d more than likely just get angry at the time it took her to respond, in that case. Of course, he could also be upset that she hadn’t chosen to wear them in his presence, either way, it was 50/50, she was doomed to be dammed if she did, and damned if she didn’t and so, chose the course that would, believe it or not, get her to his aid the fastest by not changing.
After a few moments, and only after she had checked herself out in the mirror, being certain that, aside from the huge bruise still residing on her jaw, she looked presentable, though why she had, was beyond her. She had to stifle a laugh at herself, when she realized what she was doing and then, shaking her head at her silliness, she walked the halls to end up standing now, out side his office.
Asheira then opened the door slowly, listening to how it creaked, slightly on its hinges, a sudden thought that she’d need to remedy that rushed into her mind, but vanished, when she noticed, as she stepped into the interior of the room, that there was fresh air coming in from outside; an oddity indeed.
“You bellowed... Milord” She said then, in her usual unemotional tone, her eyes looking upon him, taking in the fact that he looked less relaxed than normal. She knew it had everything to do with the on coming civil war, and perhaps, the news she had so unwillingly given him just a few days earlier.
Normally, she would have delighted in his less than perfect manner, but for some reason, she felt that she needed to say something, regarding his stressed look.
“You need more rest.” She said, her tone bringing in it something not quite tangible.

Rit's expression immediately turned to one of surprise directly after his servant suggest that he needed rest. Since when in the world had she cared about his health. It was one of those things that was so shocking that you just couldn't believe that it actually happen. Perhaps he merely imagined what she had said do too the lack of sleep. No, she had definitely said that.
"Rest can wait," he said washing his face of any sign of his previous shock and replaced it with his normal stern expression, "I have a war to plan." He gathered his papers together after a big gust of wind whipped them across the desk. Perhaps rest would be good but he had no time for that in this time of war.
So he quickly got to the reason why he had called Asheira here today. "I need you to head the the High Elven kingdom to ask for their alliance." He sat back in his chair as if done speaking and waiting for Asheira to leave. "There's a new dress on the bed in your room. Where that to the Elves and make yourself look preventable. If they ask what we offer them then ask to have one of their own come to meet with me at the lake. That's all." He was a busy man and had no time to waste a moment with needless speech.

Asheira noticed how her words seemed to catch him off guard and she realized how they must have sounded alien to him, coming from all people, her, but she, despite her hateful nature towards the man responsible for the destruction of her entire town, and her parents, she really didn’t want to see him fall ill, not now, not when.. “No” She shook her head, thinking to herself and then listened carefully to his instructions.
When he had finished, she inclined her head, yes, she inclined her head and turned to leave but paused in the doorway.
“Even great leaders need rest, you aren’t immortal you know, I will leave as soon as I am bathed and dressed Milord.” She said, not turning her head to look at him, and not waiting for a response, she stepped through the doors and was gone from his sight.
Along the hallway, her destination, her room to do as he wanted, Asheira fumbled over things in her mind of past events. It seemed, she had taken a liking to, or at the very least, a protective stance over her Master, perhaps it was just the dept she felt, deep down, she owed him for her own life, but she knew there was more to it than that.
