Down, deep in the dark passageways beneath the Rhyfaugh a strange greenish glow emanated. A scuttling sound echoed off the dripping walls as rats ran away from the sounds of soft footsteps in the mucky grime on the floor. As the light grew in intensity, it was revealed that the passage was opening up into a vast open space. The dim light released from the orb of magic in Synesan's hand could not quite penetrate far enough into the gloom to make out the exact size of the cavernous room.
"Blast it all...." he muttered as he noticed what appeared to be many more tunnels leading off from this larger section of the sewer lines.
He had been traveling through these tunnels for some time now and although he was confident that he would find his way out of here eventually. The ever-growing sense that he was not alone had been creeping up on him for the past two days. Whenever he stopped he was sure that a ways behind him in the tunnels, the soft patter of footfalls stopped just out of sync with his own. It had been about three days since he had found the slightly damp tome he had been searching for and about a week since enterring these blasted passages.
He reached into his pack and pulled out a two chunks of bread and a flask of wine as he stood in the enterance of the room. The second chunk of bread he set on a piece of clean cloth on the ground a little ways back into the passage, making sure it was on relatively dry ground before getting back upo and walking into the middle of the chamber.
"I know you are there. Do not be alarmed, I mean you no harm," he meant it mostly, but his hand slipped to his side just above his dagger just in case.

Allura had been trailing him, interested in what ever it was this Elf was doing in the human city. As per her usual, she was always curious, a trait most magic folk had, that is why they learned so quickly, and perhaps why so many died just as such. Either way, she knew he had known of her presence but had kept from sight still, as she just simply hadn’t felt like talking to him, content just to keep watching.
His words did not startle her and she actually laughed slightly, cutting it short so as not to offend him when he proclaimed he wouldn’t hurt her.
“Ok.” She said, looking at the bread he had set on the make shift table of linen as she stepped into view. “You’ve been down here a very long time, are you lost?” She inquired, her tone as if she had known him for a very long while, her manner friendly enough.

He felt the aura of magic around her as she stepped into view. His feelings of apprehension diminished as she spoke to him, her tone sounding friendly enough.
"I have been down here for awhile, but not all of it was spent wanderring about. His thoughts flickered to the book safely stowed in his pack, wrapped in enchanted silk cloth to prevent damage from jostling around during his traveling.
"What brings you down here to these dank passageways? For it surely cannot have been to seek me out. Were you after any sort of alternative prize down here?" he asked, as it dawned across his mind that she may have been after the book too.

Allura made to lean against the wall then decided against it, there was no telling what grew on the walls down here and so, instead, she took to her usual and crossed her arms about her chest and looked at him, her Onyx eyes showing nothing of her emotions, other than that same friendliness as before.
“What brings me down here, well, it was indeed you, and no, I had no other reasons and so, that book is safe where it is, I have no want of it.” She began, her right hand turning palm up, a small fire orb appearing that she immediately began to hover about her hand, twirling it about as if it were a toy, all the while her eyes remaining on him. “I was simply wondering what on Elvin Wizard was seeking in the Human sewers of this most wonderful city.” She went on, her tone a bit mocking in the words of wonderful and town put together. “As I am relatively new to this realm, and in the company of people in general, no disrespect intended, calling you people, I was simply…” She paused. “… gathering information about why it is you do what you do.” She finished, being as upfront and truthful as she just about always was.

He frowned slightly as the intangible probe of her mind allowed her access to what he had been thinking. He had not noticed it before, but now that he thought about it, he had noticed a slight presense in his mind ever since she had gotten near him.
"Hmmm, oh well I was just looking about down here to see what I could about this human city. It seems that some of their ancestors were relatively well informed when it comes to the arcane arts, though it is not nearly as advanced as the elvin magics... it is still rather advanced for humans," he spoke almost distractedly as he worked on closing up his mind from her prying reach. Sometimes it is best to not reveal too much information to another, even though they do indeed seem friendly enough. He made sure to allow only the most trivial bits of knowledge to surface outside of his mental barrier. It was best not to make it look like he was being rude about the mental tap.

She smiled gently, her eyes showing not a bit of irritation at his blocking, she was in no way trying to be rude, it was just something she naturally did, as all the years spent with animals, it was the only way she communicated for a great many years and sometimes forgot that human, and others alike, tended to have things they wished to hide. She, had no such blocks, as she truly didn’t have anything to hide, if one wanted to know what they were up against, it was there, for them to see. Except perhaps her age, it was, as a woman, her prerogative to keep that tad bit to herself.
“I am sorry, truly I am, I did not mean to pry, it’s just… automatic for me, I suppose.” She went on and then shook her head, the orb still doing its dance about her hand, she held it out and then looked down. “Oops, forgot about that.” She closed her hand about it, the orb disappeared and she held her hand out again. “Allura, Allura Demming.” She introduced, hoping her rudeness at not introducing in the first place was not too devastating on their further conversation.

He smiled, "No, it is ok. I do have secrest of my own and I wouldn't want to hurt you had you been actively trying to obtain the information. But, as it was just a habit of yours, I understand completely."
He released the orb from his hand. It floated up too hover above his head as he extended the previously occupied hand to her.
"I am Synesan Iskadar of Laenaia," he said, finally feeling relaxed about the meeting of the two of them.

Allura let a smile skim over her lips as she began to take his hand to hers when between the two there was an arch of electricity that shocked them both, and Allura jerked her hand away, the current arched upwards still between the two for several moments and she held her hand out to him again, the current running back and forth.
“Interesting.” She commented though did not move to even try and stop the current, as it no longer shocked, it was simply jumping back and forth, pulsing in its bluish glory, casting, along with the green glow form his orb, a bright bluish haze about the cavern.

His hand twitched at the pulse of energy that arched between them. He noticed how it's blueish hue illuminated the cavern and he smiled.
"Quite so," he said as he took in the reaction. He glanced around the now more visible cavern as the light revealed it. His smile quickly turned to a frown as he noticed that the sewers here had an unusually large amount of spiderwebs in the corners. He also noted that one of the tunnels leading off looked as though the bricklined sewer stopped, but the tunnel itself kept going.
"Strange..."

Allura followed his gaze and raised a brow. “Indeed, I wonder where that might go, want to take a look?” She inquired, once again, her natural curiosity getting the best of her. The light pulsing electric current no longer the source of her attention, perhaps it happened for this reason, maybe their was something out here trying to get their attention, who was she to question?
Allura closed her hand finally, breaking the current and it simply arched up once from his hand and dissipated, as all magical induced currents do. She did however, bring into play now, a light source of her own, an orb the size of his though it’s color that of bright whitish blue, something like the electrical current was, and she hovered it towards the corridor in question.

"Rat," Marie's childish voice rang out from one of the nearby tunnels. "Rat come back! I only want to pet you!" Marie, the self appointed Queen of Thieves, the Sewers, and Rats, came burst out of one of the many tunnels splashing water everywhere. Sam, she named the rat that she was chasing, was right in front of her and well...so...she leaped at it. To make a short story even shorter, she leaped at it and got a mouth full of sewer water.
Kneeling she took a look around for the rat as water dripped quickly off of her armor. After she was certain that she lost track of the rat she stood and spat the water out of her mouth. "Come on Sam!" She yelled at the top of her lungs. "I just want to pet you! Oh!" It was then when she finally realised that she wasn't alone in the sewers. "Hi," she said in a much more mature tone, "sorry you had to see that." She was beat red. "Are you lost in here or just sight seeing?"

Allura tilted her head to the side as she watched the rather amusing antics of this strange person. She had noticed the rat dart off to the right in its attempt to escape its chaser and she now, suppressing a laugh, hung the creature above the new comer’s head.
“Is this who you are looking for?” she asked, waiting for Marie to take it from the sir in front of her. “And, no, just exploring, really.” She replied to the girls question.
