Astarte had dark skin, silvery hair and looked like all the other Drows. She was a priestess and didn't know what to do, other than to walk the sewers.
Looking for someone, or something to talk to, she smiled. She found a little rat and satdown next to it. The rat didn't run away, it was like it understood what the priestess was up to.
Friendly, silent, frightened, but still you're here... she told the rat. Don't leave now, or else I'm alone, again.
The rat made a noice, like it was saying; ''I won't leave, if you don't hurts me.'' Anyway that was how Astarte thought it meant.

"It's rare to see someone else that likes rats," Marie said with a gentle smile on her face. This wasn't her usual smile which was wide and foolish. This smile was much more tamed for she had too much on her mind. Her whole body seemed diferent. Usually it shined with an unstopable spirit that...well...couldn't be stopped. But it no longer glew. Even her highly colorful armor seemed dull.
Another noticable diference was the lack of the over done make up that sometimes made her look like a clown. That was from taking a good swim though in the deeper parts of the sewer. Swimming usually helped her to bring her head together. Usually.
She looked from the girl to the precious rat and then back at the girl. "Well, anyways, I'm Marie," she extended a welcoming hand out to the girl and tried her best to widen her smile. "Who might you be?"

Astarte looked at Marie, I'm Astarte. I don't fancy rats very much, but it was the first animal I found, so I had a little chat with him. she smiled. It must be stupid talking to a rat.
I don't know why I talked to it, I guess it's just what I wanted to do after I became a priestess. She smiled.
Astarte messed up her long silvery hair and smiled. nice to meet you, Marie. I guess you're not a Drow like me?

" It's nice to meet you too and no, I'm defintely not a drow, I'm far too pale for that." She bending down and picking up the rat by the tail. It squeked and tried to scratch at Marie for a moment before she put it in a head lock of sorts. She continued, scrachting the adorable rat behind the ear. "Though I don't fancy being human too much, we are far too greedy and untrust worthy." The rat squeked but she just tightened her grip, while also trying not to kill the thing, and continued to pet it. "I'm sure there's Drows like that also though."
She loosened her grip on rat and sat it down gently on the damp floor. She liked rats but rats certainly liked to keep away from her. "As for not fanciing rats too much, I can live with that." She said offering a kind smile. " You better get off the ground though," she placed a hand out to help the drow up, "there are creature less friendly than rats down here and the ground is the first place they search for food." She said all this keeping up her kind smile.

Astarte smiled at Marie. She thought of the way the rat had reacted in Marie's hands, why did it react like that?
Yeah.. There are Drows who are greedy and untrust worthy as well... she said and smiled.
She looked at the rat, then back at Marie's out reached hand. She took her hand and helped herself up.
What kind of creatures are you talking about? You see, I haven't been here for so long... she said to Marie.

"Your normal creatures of the sewer. Some discovered by humans like the aligators and giant spiders and others drows use as gaurds."Marie's eyes were wandering, as were her thoughts. She even was having a hard time telling what she said. Looking back at the drow she offered another warm smile.
"Most are even less friendly then these rats." She tried her best to keep her eyes on her new friend however she was cursed with a short attention span. There was only one way to cure that.
"Want to go for a swim?

Astarte looked at Marie and smiled, was she serious? After telling her about the aligators, giant spiders and other creatures, she really wanted to take a swim?
Swim? In the sewers? she asked Marie unsure.
Why not? she had to smile, it looked like Marie could use a little swim.

Snatching the drow's hand, Marie began to race down one of the many tunnels dragging Astarte behind her. "Don't worry about the creatures, if you are. They tend to stay in the shallow waters." Marie knew the many intricate tunnels of the sewer system like the back of her hand. There were only a few tunnels, located around the Drow kingdom, that she had never been to. To any who had ever been lost in the sewers she was almost a hero. She made it one of her duties to help lost adventurers find there way out.
The tunnel seemed to dissapear suddenly and Marie came to a halt. "Here it is!" Before her the tunnel opened up into a natural cavern. Looking down Marie stared at the crystal clear lake about forty feet below the tunnel. This was the cleanest water around the human kingdom. All of the water in it was from a natural spring.
Quickly she striped off her boots, leg and arm armour. The armour that covered her chest and lower regions where the only things she was left wearing, besides her choker which bore a small cross, giving her the look of almost wearing a bikini.
"C'mon," she said as she stood up. She was a tall sleek woman by nature. Her armour usually hid this but now it clear. She stood right up to the edge of the tunnel and turned her head to give Astarte one more friendly smile before diving into the beutiful lake below.

Astarte looked at Marie for a moment before taking off her own clothes leaving only a bikini like outfit. Looking around, she couldn’t see anything dangerous or anything that could harm her.
"Mercy be upon us," she whispered silently as she jumped into the lake. As she jumped her silvery white hair stood out everywhere and when she saw her reflection in the water, she almost looked scary.
She hit the water and felt like she had to scream, but her voice was gone and she went underwater. Swimming back to the surface she looked around for Marie. It was water everywhere, but this water was nothing like the water had been where Marie had found her. This water was crystal clear.
"Wow!" she sighed as her head broke the surface.

"You have to go head first, hands in fists, and arms forward if you don't want to hurt yourself." She said with a large dumb smile after surfacing right infront of her knew friend. She looked around for a second before swimming backwards a litle ways so that she was about in the center of the lake. "So how do you like me secret lake so far?"
(Sorry for the small post.)

(It's OK;))
Astarte smiled, "It's really nice here. The water is so clean, nothing like the water up there," she said and pointed toward the place they had jumped from.
"How did you find this plav'ce anyway?" she asked curious. Her silvery hair went into her eyes, but se didn't care; it ouldn't stay there if she removed it either.
She looked at her dark skin, "You know, sometimes I wish I was a human, then I wouldn't have to worry about anything..." she said into the air.

Marie was about to answer her question by quite simply saying that she stumbled upon it, which is the whole truth, but then heared her friends comment about wanting to be human. So sh same back to the drow, losing the smile on the way there. "Do not which such a thing. Their is much the humans don't have that the drow do. We are not care free either, even myself has worries."
She returned a tamed smile onto her face and swam back out to the middle of the lake. "Here, follow me. I think I know something that will put you in a better mood." She waited a moment for her friend to come closer and then submerged again. And down she swam towards the bottom of the lake.

Hm… Really? she thought.
But I want to be able to see it all, everything above the Drows’ kingdom she thought adventurous.
Of course Humans must have worries as well. But they don’t have to stay away from everything of the most beautiful areas… But wait a minute! She could also visit the beautiful places in the Neutral Land… Maybe it wasn’t too bad to be a Drow after all then?
Remembering who and where she was, she followed Marie and swam to the bottom of the lake.

She kept swimming straight, not looking back to see if the drow was still following her. The deeper she went the less visable it was anyways and she was a distance below the surface already. She was used to holding her breathe for a long time, however, she didn't know how long her friend could.
Marie knew where she was going no matter how dark it was, she had been down her many times. And then, suddenly, a dim light could be seen far below illuminating what appeared to be the ruins of a city. That was what it was. She had discovered this all by accident but it had become a favorite for her to explore. She just wished that it wasn't burried under the water. Then she could really have fun with it.

Astarte had a hard time trying to follow Marie and hold her breath for so long. It was obvious that Marie didn’t have the same difficulty with this. She seemed to be more than capable of holding her breath for a very long time.
It was getting harder for her to stay focused now; soon she had no choice but to return to the surface. As she swam towards the surface, the water became less dark and things where easier to see.
She felt her head break the surface and took a huge grasp of air. Wanting to she what Marie wanted to show her she was about to swim down again. The exhaustment threatened to take her with it down, so she decided to wait for Marie to show up again.
