Darkness shrouded the she-elf as she made her way from the gates to the Inn, having only just passed the stern inspection that granted her the freedom to roam the city as she pleased. Rain had begun to fall heavily only a few moments before, along with a whipping wind that drove most of the resident elves and humans inside, to the safety of their own warm homes. As well as warm fires to sit by- something she hadn't had in a rather long time. Though she could still remember a time when she used to sit by one with her family, little Arethian bouncing playfully in her lap.
It was all gone now- blow away like dust. She was an outcast; only a warrior by training and not by name. The ruler certainly didn't recognize her, though perhaps times had changed since she had fled the lands. She didn't want to take a chance, however. All her weapons were hidden well underneath the folds of her clothing, though easily reachable if attacked.
She could hear the sign of the Inn banging against it's stone exterior before she could see it and a small smile sprang to her face. Perhaps she could stay there for the night; then decide what to do in the morning. It would at least grant her a fire to sit by and a warm bed to sleep in.
Pushing open the heavy wooden door, she entered the hustle of the Inn. Numerous people scurried every which way- the Inn was obviously a crossroads of sorts. However it seemed mostly for humans, probably because most elves owned houses in the city and had no need for an Inn.
"I'll take a room." She said, slamming a few gold pieces down on the counter. "Just for a night. No more. And I'll take a cup of ale and some dinner." Once the transaction had been completed, she sat down near the bar and twirled a piece of her cloak between her fingertips. What was she doing here, anyway?
