The sun was high in the azure dome of the sky, casting brilliant light down across the plains, forests, and rivers alike. Everything seemed to have an aura of light, and the day seemed to be going well. Creil Bevier crested the final hill before the city Rhyfaugh, his bright blue pennon, which bore his coat of arms, snapping in the wind atop his raised lance. He had been travelling for many days, and many nights to reach this place. His chapterhouse had no knowledge of a sister order here in the city, and had instructed him to go forth and seek out his bretheren, or convert the masses to the one true religion. Creil had been enthusiastic to say the least, although the idea of converting a city seemed slightly disproportionate to him, even though he was the mightiest knight that the chapterhouse had yet produced, he was but one man. He resolved that he would have to seek out and paladin's in this realm, and were there none about, or no chapter house, he would costruct his own, and extend the holy order further, protecting the citizens of gods earth, in the city of Rhyfaugh. He stopped his mount, and gazed down at the city. The gates stood open, and his brilliant blue eyes bould make out no guards nor sentries - a fact he dissaproved of greatly. With a disdainfull sigh he drove his horse forward at a canter, to trot in through the ill-maintained gate unchallenged.

Eidlin stood bewildered as she read the bulletins that adorend the city's gates. It definitelly seemed that her father hadn't exegerated on his acounts of the place. She passed the gate unhindered and looked around at the town that opened out before her. The dirt and smell hit her before the shabiness of the place did.
Before she could even decide on where to go however, the sound of a horse galloping behind her brought her thoughts to a hault. Turning she saw no one but knew that it was the gate door that was obscuring her vision.
"Hiya!" she called to her horse who was quite content to rest in the shade of the battlements. Not in the mood to argue with him, she did something uncharacteristic for her. She kicked his sides with her feet. The horse reared and began to turn on his hind legs. Leaning forward, the girl snapped her reighs and the both of them flew to her horror right across the approching rider's path.

Creil's ig grey roan watched the other horse with profound distaste upon his features, clearly obvious to any who knew and worked with horses. Creil smiled and raised his visor, a sign that he meant no harm. He raised his lance and inclined his head in greeting, "Hail," He called, beaming, "I bear thee no ill will lady, but offer my greetings. how does the day find thee?"

As she finally calmed down her horse, Eidlin turned him to face the knight who had so startled her.
"Oh, well this day has brought me more excitement then I expected, my lord," the girl looked him over with surprise. She should have known that knights were common in the human city, but still wasn't prepared to face the memories such sights brought along with them. Pushing the thougts of her father out of her mind, Eidlin inclined her head to the man before her, in greeting. "And might I ask what brings you at such a fast pace into the city? I have to say, hearing your horse's charge quite startled me, not to mention my horse."

Creil laughed, "Was i truly travelling at such speed? I apologise lady, mine impatience to enter the city hath spurred me on unnecisarily, i do fear me." He said smiling. He gently nudged his horses sides with his armoured heels to walk over beside her, and reined in to stop, "Wouldst thou accompany me unto the city, lady? I am in need of company, and it is unseemly for a woman to be travelling unescorted." He beamed, "One can talk, as one travel's." He asked, looking her in the eyes.

Eidlin smiled at the knight as she heard his proposition. "Indeed, your company would be gladly appreciated for you see,my lord, it is my first time into the city and I do not know my way around. And you are quite right, one can most surely talk whilst one travels." Eidlin was surprised at the fact that this man was offering her his protection, for on her travels, she had learned to fend of herself. Perhaps lowering her guard a little would do her some good. She smiled at the knight again, and feeling his gaze upon her, looked him in the eyes just as steadily.

Creil smiled as the two began to trot through the sparsely populated streets, toards the centre of the city. He turned to face her, his armour creaking loudly, "Mine name, is Sir Bevier, Creil Bevier." He said, "And who may i ask, lady, doth Grace me with her presence?"

"My name is Eidlin, my lord, Eildin Isilramel. It is a pleasure to make your acquantance, Sir Bevier," she smiled at him, although hearing his name stirred her memory. She had either heard or read his name somewhere bofore, although where she couldn't remember.
"Might I ask where it is we are heading, Sir Knight?" she asked at thier horses had made their way through the city's streets.

Creil held his smile, his teeth gleaming uncannily, "That is for thee to decide, Lady Eidlin. I shall escort thee to thy place of chhosing, then i must head unto the paladin chapterhouse in this city, there art matters demanding mine attention, i do fear me." He said, frowning slightly.

His reply was one that she hadn't expected. She could see that there were matters, troubling matters, that this knight had to deal with. Eidlin wouldn't keep him from them, of course. To her it seemed that the city had to many problems to deal with. 'First those posts on the gate, now this thing about the paladin chapterhouse-,' Eidlin's thougths jumped over themselves in her mind. The posts on the gate, remembering the knight's name. He was the one the lord of the city was looking for.
Eidlin stopped her horse and turned to look at the knight before her. Nothing about his contanence made her fear him or even think ill of him. He wasn't the type of scoundrels she had encountered on her journey. He was a knight, after all, and any knight had to prove himself to enter into any King's or Lord's service.
Perhaps there was some type of mistake. Perhaps the Lord of the city had mistaken this knight for another. In either case, the had a right to know about the posts. Eidlin found herself wanting to help him, yet she wasn't sure why.
"Sir Bevier," she began slowly, looking him in the eyes. If he was the criminal the Lord placed him out to be, she'd know. "I fear that I have heard some ill knews concerning your person. I am not sure where you stand on this matter, but you Sir don't seem like to have been put in the wrong. There, on the gate to the city, is a post. It seems you are wanted by the Lord of this city for some crime." She stopped as she watched his reaction. If he chose to attack her, she placed her hand on her sword hilt, she was ready.

Creils expression grew irritated, and he frowned heavily. "Put up thy sword, my lady. If i wert the criminal thou doth fear, i wouldst have waylaid thee at the gate. Thou hast nothing to fear from me, I am a man of my word, and i hath declared that i bear thee no ill will. I am fully aware of the bounty upon my head, the pompus jackass of a Lord, Megliaf hath seen fit to issue. I shalt deal with it in mine own way." He stopped his horse, putting some distance between him and her. "Thou art surely uncomfortable with mine company. I shalt leave thee now, and cause no more distress. I bid thee good day, my lady." He said, sighing.

"Wait!" she cried out, urging her horse forward to close the gap between them. To her distress, the knight took her words the wrong way from which they were meant.
"Forgive me, for I see I have offended you, Sir. I only wanted you to be aware of the... well, post. I do not fear you, I know that I have nothing to fear from you. Excuse my wariness, I have traveled alone for too long now and have learned to rely on myself alone. Besides, I, I wish to help you. Being a stranger here, I have no where I need to be, and you have offered me your services without knowing who I am. Let me return the favor by offering you mine when I do know who you are. Both, in a way, carry the same values to each of us. Your presense, Sir Knight, brings me more comfort in itself, then should it not be present." Eidlin looked him in the eyes with her fierce determination showing through. She had meant every word which she had said, and she needed him to know it as well.

Creil stopped and smiled, glad for what she had said, and the sincerity with which she said it. He turned to look at her, full in the face, seeing her fiery determination, tenacity. There was no way she could come with him, she would put herself in danger just by assosciating with him, and he had no right to ask that of her, nor to place her in such danger. "Thou canst not be seen to be assosciating with me, Lady Eidlin. I will not allow thee to place thyself in unnecisary danger, for me. I cannot ask it of you." He said, his smile dropping.

"Danger is not something I fear, Sir Bevier," she spoke softly but her voice carried the same determination it had before. "I might as well be in greater danger alone than here with you. I want you to know that I was raised by a great Knight of a respectable King and have known my share of danger. However, it is your wish on whether I may continue on with you or not. I see that my help is unwanted, thus I will not force it upon you." She was no longer smiling, and her expression could almost be regarded as upset, or even sad. "May the Lord watch over you on your journey and may no danger befall you on your quest," than she said more quietly, "Farewell then, Sir Creil Bevier." She turned her horse from him and urged her steed into a walk, where to she cared not.

Creil faltered, unsure what to do. He wanted her company surely enough, and her help was welcome, but he could not ask her to place herself in harms way for him. On a sudden imoulse he acted, "Wait, my lady. Stop." He called, riding over to fall in beside her. "Thine aid doth not go unwanted, nay, i welcome thy company and assistance, but cannot ask a lady of such stature to place herself in danger on my behalf. I wouldst discourace thee from accepting my offer, but wouldst thou come with me nontheless?" He asked, managing to blush slightly
