Meiso laughed and shook his head. "If it's no burden to you, I'll stay. I have no where to go."

Hearing his reply had made her happy for some reason. She didn't want to be left alone, and besides she still didn't know where she should head from there.
'Meiso,' she thought, 'we're in the same boat, I think,' she thought with a smile.
"And you, Lyconus, have you anywhere to go? You can still withdraw your offer, you know."

"I shall stay with you two and protect the both of you with my sword." He then turned towards the theif. "And do not even think of robbing me of my sword or anything else I may have."

Meiso's eyes grew wide and he laughed. "No thanks. I don't rob people with swords. They tend to use the sword to my disadvantage."

Eidlin looked at Lyconus intently. He wasn't being too friendly. Yet Meiso's reply made her respect him more. He wasn't a fool as so many thiefs came out to be. "You are not the only one with a sword, Lyconus," she said as a side note. "However, you don't say you'll protect someone in one moment and practically threaten them in the next. Trust comes before skill is a lesson I've had to learn the hard way. Besides, if Meiso wanted to rob you he would have done so a while back. I think he should fear you and not the other way around, my friend." With that the girl put her hand on her horse's neck and began walking away from the water. She looked back at the men behind her. "Come on you two," she said stopping so they could catch up. (ooc: hey guys what's up with the short posts? Put some emotion in it. Your character's personality hardly shows! )

ooc:lol, I'll try.
bic:Lyconus considered her words as he began to remember how things were back in his own time, but memories of home almost made him begin to cry, but he quickly put a stop to it. "Uhh..I am sorry my comrades, it's just that where I came from, theives didn't really care about anyone but themselves."

Eidlin nodded her head in agreement with Lyconus.
"I believe that they are like that everywhere. However, it seems to me that Meiso here is a rare exception. So you are not from around here either, Lyconus? Where then, if you don't mind me asking, are you from? The place must be pretty remarkable since you learned your magic there too, I presume." Eidlin couldn't believe how much in common she had with the two.
'Lucky I meet them,' she thought. Then a sudden movement from Balsid changed her mind. 'Yes, you are right Balsid, I'm lucky that I had you here to help me meet them.'
She focused her piercing gaze on the two, Lyconus especially. He was definitely a mystery.

Meiso smiled, glad someone didn't think that just because he was a thief he only thought of himself. That wasn't in his nature at all. He smiled at Eidlin as she walked away from them, telling them to follow. He walked after her, his mouth closed, and his thoughts racing. Lyconus obviously didn't trust him, so if something were to go wrong, and Meiso were blamed, he needed an easy escape route.

"Perhaps in time I shall tell my story." Lyconus replied with a smirk and began to trail after the two.

Happy for the company, Eidlin scanned the area before them looking for a suitable place to sit and rest. Up ahead, there was a small knot of trees with a great amount of shade.
Coming to it, she turned around finally and faced her companions. "Well, what say you to this spot?" she gestured around them with her hand. "I find it quite inviting, don't you?"
While waiting for their replies, she went to her horse and began digging through her saddle pack. From one side, she took down her sword and from the other a large water sack. The sword she fastened to the belt on her dress, and the sack she brought back with her in her hands.
She looked at the two foils of men before her. One was a warrior who was well built and sure of himself, it seemed. He was quiet and distant at times. The other was a thief, probably sly and very adapt at the art of concealment. He didn't look like a warrior, but who could really tell. Yet both seemed open and friendly enough to grasp her interest. She really wanted to know more about these two and their stories. Lyconus definitely had a past, who colorful she could only guess. Meiso seemed to like to defy the laws of first impression. It was him, Eidlin had decided, that she sensed at the first moment of her arrival to the lake, and she had been worried for her safety, even Lyconus thought so at first. Yet Meiso turned out to be quite the opposite.
'With his morals,' she thought, 'a wonderful knight Meiso would have made.' She wondered what made him choose such a life. Eidlin also couldn't put Lyconus' use of magic out of her mind. 'These two definitely make you think,' she thought with a quiet laugh.

Meiso smiled. "Perfect spot." He sat down, crossing his legs comfertably and leaning against the tree. He looked up into the leaves.

Before Lyconus could answer, he felt something and decided to go in search of it while drawing his sword out as well. "Stay here...I'll return shortly."

Eidlin smiled at Meiso as he said that he approved. Just as she was about to sit down however, Lyconus drew his sword and told them to stay there. Quickly she lowered the sack of water and tried to sense her surroundings.
"What did you see?" she called after him, drawing her sword as well. It was three feet tall and had tiny jewels engraved into it's hilt. The girl's body naturally placed itself in a defense position, although she could sense no danger. Her brown eyes followed Lyconus to see where he was going. She would have followed him, but seeing as Meiso was without a weapon she knew that it was best that she remained there.
"What's gotten into him?" she asked Meiso quietly. As she awaited his responce, slowly, she relaxed her grip on her sword and lowered her guard. Eyes still scanning around them, she turned back to her horse and pulled out another sack of food. This she handed to the man on the ground with her sword still in her hand.

Meiso stood slowly. He might not have a wepon, but at least he'd know the quickest way out of danger. "I don't know." He answered slowly. He scanned the area, serching for something that might be a danger.
