Minutes later Lyconus came back out with his sword sheathed. "Nothin to worry about, it was just a warthog...a very angry one."

Relife flashed over Meiso's face as he sat down again. "Oh." He made himself comfertable as he watched the other two.

Eidlin was glad to hear that it was nothing serious. She took Meiso's example and sat down comfortably on the grass as well.
"You must be a good hunter then," she said to Lyconus as he joined them again. "I mean, I didn't hear a thing and I should have." As soon as the words were out of her mouths she wished she could take them back. What would they say if they heard she was a half breed. 'Did they guess as much already,' she wondered. She looked at the two to see what their responce would be.

Meiso shrugged. "I didn't hear anything. But I guess when I saw how defensive you guys got, I did too." He smirked, watching Eidlin

"Comes from years of doing things as a Lycan." Lyconus said as he joined them on the ground.

Eidlin felt Meiso's eyes on her and tried not to blush. Averting her eyes, she turned to Lyconus instead and contemplated his responce. "Lycan, you said. I heard about those in a village I passed through on my way here. But what exactly do they do? If you don't mind me asking. I find it hard to trust the talk of old women," she said and as she did she pulled out four pears from her bag.
Looking up, she threw one to each of her companions. Her eyes connected with those of Meiso for only a second before returning to the two pears in her hands. Picking one up, she turned at threw it in the direction of her horse. He didn't waste time in picking it out of the grass. Eidlin smiled at Balsid, pears were his favorite fruit. Taking a bite out of the last one, she looked up once more awaiting Lyconus' reply.

"A lycan is the evolved form of a werewolf, but I am no longer one." He said with a hint of a bitterness in his voice. *I wish hadn't of taken that cure.* He thought to himself.

Eidlin couldn't help but hear the bitterness in the other's voice. 'Was being a human so hard?' she wondered. As part of one, she always found her life satisfactory.
"Well, as long as you're not out to kill us, I'm fine," she told him. "So would this be a bad time to ask for that story you hinted at earlier? The one about where you're from. I'm afraid if I told you mine, you'd want me arrested because it was so boring."

Lyconus laughed at her and quickly regained his composure. "How about you the lady of the group go first and then I'll tell you mine...deal?" He asked with a little grin.

(OOC: yes, you should. I'll keep you on your toes, don't worry! ) BIC: Eidlin was surprised at how Lyconus responded. "But I told you that my story is too boring to tell. You don't want me to commit that crime, surely? I mean, unless you both really want to hear, I can make it a little exciting." She wondered if she could tell them her story. It wasn't as boring as she made it out to be. After all, with all her travels, she had many exicing stories to tell, but could she tell them? She looked at both of them. Something told her she had to, and not just could.

"Hey I've been around for some odd hundreds of years, so come on and tell us. And if need be you can take a break." He replied to her warmly.

"Some odd hundred of years?" she echoed Lyconus, eyes wide. "I never thought you could live that long? Well, you'd need time to talk wouldn't you?" she smiled at him a little wearily. "All right, you won't let it go will you?" she stopped again and took a deep breath.
"I was born in a small village off the coast of the West Sea. My father was a knight stationed there to protect them. He is the one who taught me the skill with the blade, and hark he taught me well. My mother-" she stopped, again wondering if she could tell them. Knowing that she couldn't stop then, she continued, "she always wished that I was more like her. That I looked at my elven side more then my human one. Yes, she was a High Elf, and very respected among their kind. She left them, and once she married my father, never returned to them in fear of what they would do."
"Well, they both died of a plague that swept the village when I was only a few years old. I was taken, by one of the villagers to safety many leagues away from my homeland. There, a healer, brought my health back and raised me as her apprentice. Well, although I was quite taken with her and didn't mind the life she lived, I couldn't push at her hospitality any longer then was allowed. I wouldn't have left her alone as she was terribly old with frail health, but her son had returned to her with his own children, and I knew that it was high time I left. So I decided to travel to my father's home land, to the city where he was born and to visit my mother's people, the high elves, and learn about them some more. Well, it so happened that my journey took a few years longer then I expected, and I have wonderful tales to tell later if you wish, and I have finally ended up here, at my crossroads. It's thus I stand, undecided, between my two destinations. One will take me North to the human city," and she pointed in the direction with her free hand, "while the other will take me to the realm of the High Elves," she pointed again this time into the far off forests.
"And I know not where to go. As you have assumed, I am a half-elf, part human, part high elf. Neither will accept me for who I am, but both are a part of me. And I know not where I will be better accepted," with that she raised her large brown eyes to her listeners. She wanted to hear and see their reaction to her tale. She wanted to know how they felt about her now. "Perhaps you could help me... friends, if I can call you that, to help me make my decision," she said. The fear of the ever common rejection was glinting in her eyes. She hated this most of all, and was partly ready to receive the ever-familiar blow again. This was one thing from what the sword, that she had earlier sheathed, could not protect her from.

Lyconus was stunned into silence for a few minutes before he spoke. "Lets go to the elven lands first and then later on to the human ones." If they didn't accept her, he would knock a few heads around. "And I'll knock a few heads if they don't be nice to you."

Eidlin gasped as she heard his reply. She couldn't believe that not only had he accepted her but he was willing to go with her to the elven lands. She found that she couldn't respond for a while. "Are...are you sure?" she finally asked. Her eyes started to burn but she fought it off. "I would be eternally greatful my lord," she bowed in thankfullness and to hide her eyes. "But is it not your turn? At least a few years of your life," she asked him, with a large smile. "And Meiso is yet to tell us his own."

"If I didn't mean it, I wouldn't have said it." He smiled and decided to speak again. "Quit callin me a lord."
