Seeing that the horse speaking was not a hallucination, Eidlin returned her trust to her mind. Realizing what Cellina had done, she hesitantly pulled Balsid out of her reach.
"Please, whatever you did to Shade, don't do it to Balsid. He's already enough trouble with his actions. I fear that his mouth will be twice as bad, and when you're meeting strangers, it is not a good trait to have."
Looking at her horse, she became suddenly ever so conscious of whether he really could understand her or not. Many times she spoke to him for selfish reasons of comfort. Only now, she finally realized that he had understood every word she said.
"Sorry, dear," she told her horse, "but I understand you well enough. Let's keep it between us."

Cellina smiled.
Shade shook her head, "Of course not dear. I could tell that he'd be whipped for his tongue if I gave him that ability..."
Cellina laughed and looked at Eidlin. She smiled, climbed up on Shade's saddle, and got comfortable, "Ready to head to town?"

BIC:
Cellina heard a familiar howl and her eyes grew wide. She lifted Eidlin, by magic, onto her horse and jumped onto her own.
"GO! THERE ARE HUNTERS OF THE NIGHT AMONG US! GO!"
She turned her horse towards the howl and ripped part of her skirt off to allow her legs to hold on tighter as the horse galloped in the direction of the howl.

Eidlin fought a scream as she was lifted into the air by magic. Feeling the familiar saddle under her seconds later, she let the fear pass as she watched Cellina gallop into the twilight.
Balsid followed the elf much on his own which allowed his rider freer room to think. As they sped in the direction of what sounded like a howl, Eidlin could not help but rest her hand on her elven blade.
"Cellina," she called to her as Balsid fell along side Shade, "what did you mean by hunters of the night? Where are we going?" Eidlin's voice was even, she was used to being in danger, but none-the-less, she liked to know what the danger was.

"A werewolf..." she whispered as she turned and a branch slashed her face. She gasped and kept on going.

'Werewolf,' Eidlin thought as she bent low as the same branch that hit Cellina swung back for a shot at her. 'Why were they chasing a werewolf?'
Looking around her, she tried to discern in the darkness any moving shape that could be a wolf. As she looked, she strained her ears to hear a howl of any like nearby. She did not like the idea of heading for the wolf and wondered why Cellina was urging them forward with such urgency.
And the word werewolf sent a funny feeling of recognition through her. It sounded so familiar, a story of sorts that tried to push up from the back of her mind. She wasn't used to the word, but she knew of the condition. Looking up, she barely managed to steer Balsid out of heading in the wrong direction as a fork in the trail appeared. The poor guy had no idea what was happening, and he was not the only one.

Cellina sensed some confusion and lost-ness. She looked around and stopped suddenly next to a creek. Shade flipped her mane and shifted her wheight from foot to foot.
"Eidlin!" she called a stop to her friend.

A large wolf stepped into view and howled loudly.

Eidlin pulled on Balsid's reins violently as she saw Cellina halt a head. Stopping along side her, the girl scanned the banks for any sign of danger or presence.
Movement in the shadows brought Eidlin's senses to alert as she identified a wolf in her presence. His howl brought goosebumps to appear on her exposed skin. As she looked at him, her fingers wrapped around her sword which was secured safely to her saddle.
Breathing heavily, the girl tried to keep herself calm as she watched the animal with weary eyes.

Cellina heard her hand hit the hilt of her sword and she turned to her. "No! Don't! He's a friend!" she sat sideways in the saddle. "Head to the human villiage and wait there for me!"

The wolf started to change, and a light enveloped him and once it was gone, a man stood in its place. "Ah.... took me awhile to remember that."

Cellina gave him a double-take and then smiled. "LYCONUS!" she smiled and jumped down from her horse. "You can change back and forth at will now?"

"Head to the human village and wait there for me!"
Eidlin was not sure whether Cellina spoke to her or not. Switching her gaze from the elf and the wolf, the woman tried to figure out what on earth was happening.
Suddenly, the wolf transformed into a very familiar person. At first, the half-elf did not know how to reply. She simply stared at the man in astonishment. Of course he had once told her about being a lycan, however it is one thing to hear the fact, to see it was another thing all together.

Lyconus smiled happily. "Yes, took me awhile, but I managed to control it once more."
