Cellina smiled to her question. "Thirty-one years, my friend, since birth. I know that seems like I'm a youngen, but i know far more than others. I only know few elves that are fine with the other races. I know almost every person in the realm though. Knowns and unknowns." she smiled. "And you? How old are you and have been traveling for how long?"

Eidlin wondered how best to answer her. "Well, it seems that I have not inherited my mothers long age, for seeing her die made me doubt immortality. I am ninteen years old, by human age. As for how long I've been traveling," Eidlin sighed, for her it had been too long, "two years since I left the healer's village."
"Let me explain," she said, seeing as her reply was hardly understandable. "After I was rescued by my father's loyal friend, he placed me in the care of a healer woman of a nomadic tribe he passed on his way. He could not keep a child of seven years for he was a knight and forever traveling. Thus living with her, I was always traveling with the tribe, although they liked to stay in a certain place for a few years at least. At seventeen, I left her and began the long journey here. Thus, in a way, I've been traveling for twelve years now, and always looking for home."
A pained sigh escaped her, but she payed it no mind, hoping that Cellina would not as well. "Yet, I fear I shall not stay here either. With that lord and his rotten rule," she shook her head, "and war is bruing. The whole city smells of it. Perhaps I shall stay until it's over. I believe I can be of some service to the Paladin and his men. Yet after I see that ruler overthrown and this city back on it's feet, then I guess I shall move on as well," all this she spoke in a soft tone, mainly to herself.
She did not want to leave the city, her father's city, but she feared she had no choice. She felt distant from most of the people of the city, and the elven realm as well. But then the pleasant memories of hearing her name being called down the street and meeting friends overpowered her. Eidlin knew in her heart that she wanted to say, she just wasn't sure that she could. Traveling had become her way of life, although not something she enjoyed. Besides, she wasn't sure that she had found enough that could keep her back.

Cellina listened to her tale, and smiled at how open the young girl was with her. "Firstly, i would like to thank you for being so wise as to trust an elf, and secondly....I would like to give you this..." she pulled her large bag next to her, and pulled out a long, two-handed balde. She set it on the table in front of her new firend.
"An elvin blade that i called Silindiul." she smiled, " 'Protector'."

Eidlin gasped as Cellina placed the weapon on the wooden table. By just looking at it, the girl knew that if the sheath was as beautifully crafted, the blade inside must be of even greater value and craftsmanship. She, however, did not dare to even touch the blade; she only looked on in awe.
Looking at the elf, Eidlin smiled gratefully but lightly shook her head. "I cannot possibly accept this gift from you Cellina. This blade apparently has great meaning to you, not to mention I can only guess at how much it is worth. I am deeply touched, nonetheless, and want to thank you for the gesture."

Cellina shook her. "It would be shameful to me if you did not take it! You are a good friend to me Eidlin! This is the best i can repay you with, besides being a good friend back!" she nodded.

Cellina's reply touched Eidlin's heart.
'Good friend,' she repeated in her mind.
Silently, she reached out and accepted the weapon. Tears glistened in her eyes, but did not fall. Grasping the handle with one hand, she pulled the blade out of its sheath. The light reflected off the surface of the smooth blade.
"Thank you, thank you so much Cellina," Eidlin finally managed to whisper looking at her friend. "Thank you for your gift, but mainly thank you for your friendship." She let go of the sheath and extended her hand to the girl opposite the table.
'One day, I too will pay you back for your kindness,' she thought with a smile.

Cellina was smiling madly. She was happy to see that the girl apprieciated the weapon and the friendship, "You're very welcome..." she took her hand and made them glow purple. "This is the trust bound i have in you. Anytime you need a helping hand, dear friend, please just raise your sword in the air and call my name..."
She watched as the purple "vines" bound their wrists and she pulled back, taking with her a blur of green light, that disappeared into her hand.

Eidlin gasped as purple light shown around her hand and seemed to enter her body. Alarmed, she listened to Cellina's explanation and calmed down a little.
"Thank you, again. I feel horrible by not being able to give you anything in return accept a friendship. However, I give you my word of honor that no matter what shall happen I will be there to help you, in any way I can."
The magic unnerved her a little bit, but she figured that she would have to get used to it somehow. Then, a sudden thought sent Eidlin into the air.
"Oh, but I just remembered something!" she cried out with a content smile growing on her face. "I have something for you as well." With both hands she reached up and pulled what looked like two necklaces off her neck. "These are moonstones that my mother brought with her from the elven realm. I'm sure they are common for you, but these two hold special meaning to me. One of these was given to my father, and the second was what she had worn, but later had given to me. I would like you to have that one, the one that she had once worn. It is meant to give you protection from all evil. She believed in the elvish deities and since one of them is Luna, well, for her it held even more meaning."
Smiling, Eidlin handed her the necklace with the stone that looked like a perfect sphere. The second, with a stone the shape of a tear drop, Eidlin placed over her neck once more. "Now we are bound by both magic and these. I would not know of any magical properties they may possess, but I'm sure you can tell."

Cellina graceously took the necklace and slipped it on. The stone shown bright in the dim fire from the room and she smiled greatly, "Your gift is beyond. You are making a sacrifice that will help me! These stones, though somewhat rare, are both magical and expensive!" she fumbled the smooth stone between her fingers.
"Binding the promise with an elvin spell and then promise of a mother elf." she nodded slowly. "You are blessed, Eidlin, blessed."

Eidlin did not quite understand what the other meant by saying she was blessed, but she smiled anyway.
"Well, so are you, if I understood you correctly," she said. "I'm glad to hear that it has more then just sentimental value," Eidlin said as she sheathed the elven blade and placed it on her bench. "Silindiul," she whispered, remembering the name.
"Tell me, Cellina, how will the stone help you?" she asked, glad that it would. But her curiosity was not that easily stifled.

Cellina nodded, "You did." she watched as the girl examined the sword. "It should serve you well." she smiled at her question about how the stone was going to help her. "For a sorceress, it serves as a "Energy Storer"." she nodded, "Since it takes energy for a spell... plus i will have the energy of trust from you, blessed sister."

'Blessed sister.'
The words entered Eidlin's heart and stayed there. She never really had a true friend before, for she was always traveling, moving from city to city, and never left any ties behind. Now Eidlin wondered if she could leave Adunasir as easily as she had planned.
"I know it will serve well. Gifts given and accepted with love possess in themselves that powerful feeling and make it better then all the rest. Now I only hope that you haven't given me your only weapon, Cellina," she said in a serious tone.

Cellina nodded in agreement and shook her head when she was asked about that being her only weapon.
"No," she stated, "I'm better at a bow then a sword."

"I used to carry a bow, up until I began my travels. I guess now I've come to prefer the sword for any sort of combat," Eidlin replied taking another drink of her wine. It wasn't as strong as she was expecting, but she was sure that after a few cups, the drink would act on anybody. Looking around, she was happy to find that most of the scoundrels had either fallen asleep or left the tavern.
"What do most men find in alcohol?" she asked shaking her head as the bartender pulled a dirty looking man outside to the amusement of a group of overgrown farm boys.

Cellina nodded to her quick information about used to carry around a bow. Cellina chuckled at the question about the men liking alchol.
"I'm not sure, but i have a hunch that they always want to have a bit of fun.... that is if they can find a willing girl. And as you can see: I'm not willing." she smiled.
